One person usually carries all of it
In most households, one person knows the sizes. Everyone elses shopping runs through them, which means a phone call from a shop, a photo of a label, and a decision made under time pressure by someone who is not there.
It is not a memory problem, it is a sharing problem. The information is in one head and needs to be in two or three.
When it is shared, the person who happens to be near the shop can just buy the thing.
What a family card holds
- Clothing and shoe sizes for each person, with the date they were checked
- Height for children, which is how most childrens clothing is sized
- Allergy free notes for fabrics, like no wool against the skin
- The brands that fit each person and the ones that never do
- Sizes for people outside the house, so gifts stop being a guess
Why sharing changes the behaviour
A private note in one phone gets used when that person shops. A shared card gets used by whoever is passing the shop, which in practice is three or four times as often.
A shared list holds up to three people on the free plan and up to ten on Pro. Everyone sees the same cards and the same shopping list, and an edit shows up on the other phones straight away.
It also survives a lost phone, which a note in the Notes app usually does not.
How families set it up
- Start with the two adultsSizes you already know, written down once.
- Measure the children on a SundayHeight, foot length and current sizes, with the date. Children grow, so the date is the important part.

How many people can share?
Three on the free plan, ten on Pro. Everyone sees the shared cards and lists on their own phone.
Can I keep some cards private?
Yes. Cards are shared only when you put them in a shared space, so gift ideas and surprises can stay on your own side.
What happens if someone leaves the family group?
You revoke access from the family screen, and the shared cards stop appearing on their phone.
