Sizes
A clothing size tracker for people who own more than one size
You are a M in one brand, a L in another and a 40 in the third. Specsy keeps all of it, brand by brand, so you stop guessing at the checkout.

- L (runs small)
- Shirt collar

Clothing sizes are not one number
Nobody has "a size". You have a size at Zara, a different one at Uniqlo, and a shirt collar measurement that only matters twice a year. The moment you shop somewhere new, none of it is in your head.
So you buy the safe option, one size up, and it hangs in the wardrobe with the tag still on. Or you buy online, get it wrong, and spend twenty minutes of your evening printing a returns label.
The information exists. It is on the label of the jacket that actually fits. It just is not with you when you need it.
What goes on the card
One card per category of clothing, not one per item. Tops, trousers, outerwear.
- Your actual measurements in cm and inches
- The size you take, per brand, because they disagree
- A photo of the label from the garment that fits perfectly
- Notes like "runs small" or "sleeves always short"
- Brands and cuts that never work, so you skip them
The same person, four brands
This is why one remembered number is not enough. A real card looks closer to this.
| Brand | Size that fits | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Uniqlo | L | Cut is narrow across the chest |
| Zara | M | Sleeves run short |
| COS | M | True to size |
| H&M | M or L | Depends on the collection |
Setting it up takes one evening
- Find the clothes that actually fitNot everything you own. The three or four items you reach for first.
- Photograph the labelsSpecsy stores the photo on the card, so the raw information is always there even if you noted it down wrong.
- Add the brands that failedA size that does not work is as useful as one that does. It stops the same mistake twice.
Questions people ask
Can I keep both centimetres and inches?
Yes. A card field is free text, so you can write "98 cm / 38.5 in" and see both when you are on a US site.
Does it work for someone else, like a partner?
Yes. Each person gets their own card, and on a shared plan the whole family sees them.
What if my size changes?
Edit the card. Specsy is meant to be updated, not filled in once and abandoned. Most people revisit it once or twice a year.
